Services and Amenities

•   Public Houses

Two pubs are within easy reach of the village, Dog and Partridge (01729-840668) is to be found within the village and Crowtrees Inn (01729-840591) is a short distance to the East of the village. Good meals are provided at both locations using locally-sourced food.

The Community  Hall is normally opened on a Sunday evening for a Community Evening, during which time the bar is open and food is provided.  There is usually a quiz courtesy of Ray Woolston and visitors are always welcome. On special occasions, local resident and folk-singing legend David Brown may give an impromptu display of his singing skills.

•   Bed and Breakfast

Bed and Breakfast accommodation may be found in Tosside village at the Dog and Partridge (01729-840668) and also at Cowper Cottage in the neighbouring village of Wigglesworth (01729-840598) .

•   Holiday Cottages

Excellent holiday cottage accommodation can be found at Bent House Farm (01729-822865), Lower Gill (01200-447023), Melling Dub Farm (01729-840830) and Crowtrees Timber Lodges (01729-840278).

•   Camping and Caravanning

There are camping and touring caravan sites affiliated to the Camping and Caravanning Club at Hartleys Farm (01729-840662), open all year, and at Marl Barn (01729-840339). Both sites are within walking distance of both the village and Gisburn Forest.

•   Bus

There is a local bus service, calling at Tosside operated by Metro Line. Metro line can be contacted on 0113 245 7676.  

The bus service from Clitheroe to Settle calls at the village (outside the church yard) at:

  10:30 AM, 12:25 PM, 14:40 PM and 17:20 PM.

The bus service from Settle to Clitheroe calls at the village (outside the church yard) at:

  09:38 AM, 11:53 AM, 13:53 PM, 16:03 PM and 18:38 PM.

•   Rail

The nearest railway station to Tosside is at Long Preston (approximately 4 miles away). This line is on the route from Leeds to Carnforth.  For up-to-date timetable details contact National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.

•   Taxi

A local taxi service is operated by  Bowland Cars on 01200-424040.
