Events for 2012
• Stu Brown Sextet -
This popular six piece Jazz band will be playing a range of music by Raymond Scott from the 1940’s to the present day. Suitable for all ages, animation/cartoon fans, and jazz fans. Admission to this event will be £7 and £4 for children.
• Craven Accordion Orchestra -
The annual performance of the Craven Accordion Orchestra is always a very popular event, particularly with the unique acoustic qualities of the Hall. Admission to this event will be £3.
• Swing City Big Band -
Back by popular demand, Swing City are a real top-
• Queen’s Jubilee Celebration/Community Lunch -
A general gathering and community lunch to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. Admission to this event will be £10.
• Slaidburn Sliver Band -
Slaidburn Silver Band will be performing their annual summer concert at the Community Hall. Admission to this event will be £3.

The Tosside Fox Festival is always particularly popular each year. The event is similar to scarecrow festivals held by some other local villages in the area. However, because of the origins of the Tosside village name being inextricably linked with throughout history with Todd the fox, it was decided in 2005 that our festival would commemorate this link and so since every year since we have held our annual Fox Festival.
Most families make a fox and dress it to suit the theme, these creations are then proudly displayed outside their property or at the end of a nearby road. For several years now visitors to the Fox Festival have been given the opportunity to vote for their favourite fox display. Each year there has been a different theme; In the past, these have included: sports, film, fairy tales, TV programmes and book titles. This year’s theme for the fox festival will be announced in due course.
• Tosside Art Group Exhibition -
This is the annual display of artwork produced by the Tosside Art Group and normally showcases work of a very high quality. Admission to this event will be £2 with proceeds going to Macmillan Nurses. Refreshments available.
• Firework Display -
Our annual firework display will once again be held on the new community hall overflow car park. This allows families with small children to enjoy the fireworks against a dark sky whilst remaining a safe distance away from the display. Admission to this event will be £3 which includes a small contribution towards fireworks and a light meal afterwards.
